Our Story

We didn't know each other prior to advertising class and met randomly through instructions to go speak to a classmate you have never met before. We had a class period to think of a social media project that brought awareness to a good cause. To pass the assignment, we need 500 likes on Facebook and 500 followers on twitter. We approached each other and started brainstorming ideas and realized we had a lot in common. We are transfer students, girly girls, friendly, funny, and having a hard time meeting people at our new school and that’s when we started trying to figure out why. We realized neither of us are mean people and started talking about insecurities we feel are stopping us, but realized neither of us wanted to admit our own to each other because we had just met.

Ironically, that same night we had our epiphany and realized we should talk about these things since we are girls and we need to work together not against each other, even if that means being vulnerable with ourselves. So as strangers we told each other what we consider our flaws to be and ironically enough what one of us thought our flaws was the other one envied. We came to the same question; what made these things our flaws in the first place? We were so in sync with our thoughts and passionate about creating a social media for girls with a good cause. Two days later
Flaunt your Flaws became a work in progress.

Looking back none of this would have happened if we had put our insecurities aside and just said hi to each other because we look like we’d have something in common… But, we wouldn't change a thing because that’s how our story began.
